Inspirational Black and White Images

Instead of color this week, our challenge was black and white. I found some incredible images this week… It’s not just the fact that they edited in black and white. The composition, the contrast, the way the light plays in the images. All these elements come together to create an amazing image! Thank-you for sharing with us today! Be sure to follow their links and see some of their other amazing images!

Humans of New York – Everyday inspiration!

What an inspiration! I have been following HONY on Facebook for quite some time. I love to read the quotes and I even read the comments sometimes, which are for the most part positive and encouraging.  His photography is amazing, capturing a moment and a quote in such a beautiful positive way.

I watched this video this morning,  very well done!  It’s a quick video about the man behind Humans of New York. What an inspiration! I feel inspired to go take pictures…

ISO Inspiration – Using different ISO Settings

This weeks challenge was to take the same picture, but use a different ISO setting for each image. ISO is only part of the triangle, but a big part. ISO measures the sensor sensitivity. The images below are beautifully composed and all using different ISO settings. Some are set at a lower ISO setting while others at a higher ISO. A big thank-you to the photographers below for sharing their images with us today!

How to creatively use your aperture – Inspiring Photographs

Our first challenge of the year was setting up the camera and trying different apertures to see what happens. I found some inspirational photos from photographers who know exactly how to use it. Not only is the composition and subject beautiful, but the way they carefully choose which aperture to use to create an amazing image! A big thank-you to the photographers below for sharing their images with us today!

This week our challenge was High Key Photography!  Next time you’re out, think about high key or low key photography. Think about what you want your final image to look like. Look at the highlights and the contrast, create your image before you click the shutter button.

The photographers below have it figured out, they’re amazing! The composition, the light, perfect high key photography! Thank-you for sharing your photographs with us this week!

Still Life Photography Inspiration

I feel one can learn so much about photography when photographing still life photos. After all your subject won’t run away, you can easily move your subject and light source. I also find it incredible challenging to bring form and composition to these photos, to get that light just right. These photographers below are amazing! They turned simple every day objects into works of art, the light the composition are perfect! Thank-you for sharing with us today!

This week on Learn by Doing Photography we’re looking for photo opportunities within the changing seasons!

A big thank-you to the photographers below who shared their amazing autumn photographs with us! Beautiful composition and autumn colors! Thank-you!
