Learn by Doing Photography #51 – Photographing the Holiday Season

This week is pick up your camera and take a picture of the holiday season, it’s all around you. The beautiful window displays that people put so much time and effort into. The lights someone hung downtown, creating a magical drive. Your house, your neighbors house… Beautiful lights everywhere just begging to photographed.

Last night I packed up my tripod and camera and was going to take a picture of this beautiful tree we have downtown. It must be 20 feet tall at least, all white lights wrapped to the very tip top! When I got down there a bulb must have gone out on the string, because only one lonely row of lights hung on the bottom.

I found myself back at home, not really happy with any of my pictures downtown. When I cam home I looked at our Christmas tree… Hand made ornaments from the kids through out the years hang on the branches. Each crafted with such love and wrapped in the pure joy of the season. These are special, these are treasures that make me smile every year when I open the box full of Christmas ornaments. This is one of them….

What is your holiday season… This week take a picture of something that makes you smile….
