Learn By Doing Photography Assignment #12 – Photographing Clouds

Everyone should have a cloud folder on their computer! These are the first two in my cloud folder that I will start today. Why you might ask. One day you might be photographing the most beautiful building, but it’s a blue skies.  No clouds to be seen! You really wanted this picture to have atmosphere, perhaps stormy dark clouds, or fluffy white clouds. Either way you’re out of luck since there are no clouds.  Now what if you had a folder at home full of clouds you can simply go home and blend your two images together and now your building is set against a plethora of clouds forming in the background!

Photo Tips does a great job on this tutorial – How to take really cool pictures of clouds. It’s a 10 minutes clip from an hour long tutorial. If you want the entire hours, it’s free.  You just need an itunes account, search for photo tips in the itune store and you can listen to the entire hour!

Remember you can post your pictures at the bottom of this post or on the DigitalCamFan Facebook. If you have any questions please refer to the guidelines, if you have no questions jump right in any time!
