One of the first things you will learn when you switch your dial to Manual, is aperture! You need to understand how your aperture controls how your picture is going to look. If you want everything in focus you would use a smaller aperture and if you want to have a shallow depth of field you would use a wider aperture to let more light in.
I found some pretty great tutorials I wanted to share with you:
First up is www.photographylife.com
You will find excellent photography tips including this one that talks about aperture!
Digital Photography School always has great photography tips! Here is a good one on Moving toward manual settings, understanding aperture!
Pixelated Photographer has an good article too that you should check out!
This next one, I love www.cambridgeincolour.com! Lot’s of technical information usually more than you know what to do with. But that is why I like it. There is information for the beginner and the advnaced. This post goes over all elements of exposure including aperture.
Do you have a post you think I should add?
