Re-live the 1804-06 Lewis and Clark Expedition’s 8,000-mile journey across western North America in the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center in Great Falls, Montana. Built into a scenic bluff with spectacular views of the Missouri River & the Rivers Edge Trail below. The designers went to great lengths to have the building blend in with the natural surroundings with pure success. During the normal daylight the building is natural sage colors as is the surroundings.

This evening I caught the Interpretive Center from below when the sun was setting & we also had forest fires all around us so the smoke haze added another dimension to the photo op. I have to laugh because I thought “oh bummer the air is hazy” but as it turned out it made for a great combination. My motto is: TAKE THE PICTURE you can always delete. Taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XT, 1/500 sec, F/6.3, ISO 400
